In a world of perpetual motion, we often seem suspended in an Endless Present — a condition in which past and future dissolve, leaving only the intensity of now.
It is within that space that creativity manifests.
Energy moves through all things. It cannot be destroyed, only transformed. Creative energy is no different.
It moves through people in ways that resist explanation. It can erupt as sound, gesture, movement, emotion, or presence. It cannot be owned or contained — only expressed, shared, and transformed. At its most potent, it passes from creator to audience in an immediate and unrepeatable exchange. It is a conversation.
For much of my life, I have been fortunate to witness that transfer through the lens of photography. My archive has been shaped largely within live performance, where music becomes one of the purest vehicles for creative expression. In those moments, songs are no longer merely recordings or compositions, but ephemeral forces made manifest.
This exhibition presents selected works drawn from thousands of such moments. While many of the subjects are musicians recognised across generations, celebrity is not the focus. Each image is included because it captures something more universal: the instant in which creativity becomes tangible and the audience moves from observer to active participant.
Whether photographed in intimate clubs or on major stages, these works document moments of transference — between performer and crowd, emotion and memory, presence and response.
Now printed, these moments enter a new medium. What began as sound and movement becomes embedded in paper and pigment. The energy is transformed once more — now moving silently between image and viewer. Nostalgia, curiosity, longing, inspiration, recognition: each response expands the vocabulary of that creative conversation.
I was taught early in my career that, as a photojournalist, you should never become the focus. Our role is to remain unseen — a quiet presence, to bear witness rather than bear responsibility. I have always held to that belief. I am simply a conduit: a translator between source and destination, regardless of the medium.
Endless Present is an evolving body of work built around the raw transference of creative energy itself. The images may change from venue to venue, but the theme remains constant: the capture of that initiating spark which sets an endless conversation of creative energy in motion.
